Cool newbee from Ireland

Hi everyone,
My name is Eric and I am from Ireland. I am just about to start pyrography with my wife. We have not done it before. So I hope that you can help us when we have a few questions. We are both 55 years old and we like a new challenge. So this will be good. I have a question for all of you: How should we set up a pyrography studio? We do not have a very big place. Hope that you can help. Pics would be good.
Thanks from,
Eric.

Hello and Welcome to you Both:
I would like to suggest that you visit the Pyrography Forum on this site if you haven't already.. There you will find lots of good information about woodburning and also get your questions answered.

I do some woodburning and use a Razertip duel unit (for two pens) with adjustable heat settings. There are others out there of which are mentioned on the above forum.
A good work space well vented (I use my garage workshop) so you not drawing in the smoke from the burning wood. I use a dust collector unit to draw in the smoke when I'm woodburning or powercarving. Some us small fans to blow the smoke away. You can also wear a filter for your nose.
The woods I burn on are basswood (limewood), birch, pine, poplar, and cottonwood. Some folks even burn on leather and paper.
example of pyrography on a birch panel I did a few years back.

Hope this helps
