Default Newbe from Jersey shore

Hi All. First, just want to say hello to all. I also need info. Trying to complete a Gordon Stiller pattern full size American Avocet. Can't find any suitable moulded legs. Any suggestions? I am a long time subscriber to WCI, but have not used this site before. It looks great!

the larger birds, you have to make your own legs.....I did a small heron and made the legs out of copper tubing and covered with "apoxie" just my way, lots of other ways

Salty,
Welcome!
How about from a taxidermy supplier? There are probably lots of them out there but the only one I know, in a round about way, is VanDykes. They have a furniture restorers catalog that's wonderful, and I noticed in it that they also have a taxidermy catalog, never looked at one though. Their restorers catalog is called VanDyke's Restorer.
Good luck You'll get lots of ideas on here, because there are a lot of great bird carvers on here...look at Hi_Ho's heron, for instance!

Thanks, Wade. I have seen that VanDykes catalog. I'll have another look.
