Hello Lisa and welcome, did you see in the woodburning forum the free pyro pattern offer by Irish? It's pretty cool and gives you a little step-by-step.

have fun and show us when you're done or even as you progress along.

Hello Lisa,

I use my woodburning tool for one thing - burning in the pupils on my carving. I hope you get to do more than I have as its quite an art. Soon you'll be picking up a carving tool as well. Welcome to the site.

Welcome to the board. Agree with Mottles. Susan's site is awesome. Look forward to seeing your first attempt. I have only done 2 wood burnings myself. Much more of a carver here.

Welcome Lisa,
You'll find good carvers and burners here and they'll be a great resource as you learn to burn. I'd recommend you suscribing to Woodcarving Illustrated--there's usually at least one great woodburning pattern in each issue. Susan Irish has some great patterns and is a regular contributor to WCI--and this board.

Let us know how you're doing with your woodburning process.
