Chuck, you're the greatest! I got the magazines this morning. Man, I can't wait to get carving I desperately need to get myself a carving glove and some new tools and some good wood and some, and some, and some.....

But yeah, it looks like a great issue. I really want to make some of those brooches (thanks Geoff!), wizards (thanks Tom!), my daughter wants a bear bench and I haven't even looked at the other 2 mags you sent me yet

Excellent!! Glad to hear they made it and in great time too. Yeah - you'll now be hit but what we guitar players know as GAS - Gear Aquisition Syndrom, where everything would be "perfect" if I just had . . . (fill in name of equipment or tool here). ;-)

carving mate!

My wife's always telling me off for G.A.S.

Fortunately I don't have the money to go stupid, especially as I just spent out about $160 (£79.99) for a cargo trailer for my bicycle. I don't drive and got fed up of being charged delivery from supermarkets - I can get my own darned shopping now!!

Which means that tools will remain what I have now and wood is what I can find when I take the dog for a walk but hey, I have got quite a few nice bits, even a 6' long by 2" diameter job I'm thinking might just have to be my first staff. Will need some thinning down as it's quite heavy but I have my trusty draw knife
