I have been skulking about the site for a few weeks and have gleaned a lot of great ideas from all the posts.

I started carving about 8 months ago (after retiring from the work a day world) and have been trying a number of different forms. Did a couple eggs, some small animals, ball in a box, wooden chain, chip carved a number of pencil boxes and coaster sets, and started some relief carvings now.

Having fun with all of them but need a lot of practice and continued good advice I find here.

I live just north of Calgary in the currently frozen north.

THNX.

Welcome to our favorite place!
Carving is a great way to enjoy retirement...or so I've heard. I'm still working but love the sense of accomplishment and therapeutic value of carving.

Great way to tolerate winter, too!
