Default New Old Guy

Hi, I"m Gary and into all types of woodworking from musical instruments to woodsheds. I'm interested in sharpening my carving skills and am looking for tips on carving a crucifix with Jesus.

I am a new old gal, started about 3 years ago and have found making chips my favorite "craft" so far. I lived in Oregon and there was a fantastic teacher with classes at a studio. I learned a lot from him but now I have moved to Virginia and can't find any chippers in this area. I would like to have a club get started in the Harrisonburg area. The nearest one is in Richmond about 2 hours away which is difficult for traveling every week. I don"t know where you are located but if you are anywhere near Virginia or if anyone else sees this knows anyone. My email is bankermim@comcast.net. Let me know if you get this anyway. Thanks.
