Started our local club two years ago and it is small but thriving. I do mainly wildlife at this time. Our club members won many ribbons at our local county fair and it motivated them to go to something bigger. I have done an eagle in flight and a few ducks various breeds. We are in a rural community and meet in our workshop twice a week. Would like to know of any classes for painting in either No. Calif or So. Calif. Having a hard time getting my colors mixed right.

Talking Hi Creamer: I grew up in the bay area of Northern California--now I'm a high Arizona desert dweller. LOL Hey welcome we have a wonderful group of folks here at WCI. I join the rest of the gang in welcoming you and please share you work with us. Everyone is really helpful and I have learned so much about woodburning here. Sorry I can't help you with your club question when I was living in N CA. the only carving (cutting) and burning I was doing was for my fireplace. Boy I wish I had some of that walnut and oak now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kathy

Welcome aboard Creamer. Great bunch here, tons of experience and a willingness to pass on that experience to others. I can only echo Hi Ho's recommendation, check out Lori Corbett's site, she has a great book out there on bird carving. Another bird carver, Hugh Parks, may also be able to help. He teaches and may be helpful to talk to him. Again, welcome, we look forward to seeing your work. Bob
