Default New Member saying Hello

Hello my fello carvers, My name is Nathan Bailey I live in Ogden Utah well for now. I'm Building a new home in Mantua Utah right now. I am a special Weapons Mechanic at Hill Air Force Base. I have just started really liking to carve. I picked up a issue of Wood Carving with the 5 min wizzard and cant stop carving. I carve a wizzard every day. My wife thinks I'm crazy, I just told her think of the cool christmas tree you will have this year. If you have any tips let me know I am just learning.

Greetings and salutations Nathan! You still on active duty? to hear that you've discovered and enjoy carving so much. Go on line or visit your local woodcarving shop and get yourself a copy of Skylar Johnson's How to Carve a Woodspirit in a Hiking Stick. From there you can branch out to woodspirits on canes, on key chains, red cedar closet buddies...etc....etc... There will be no stopping you!

Welcome aboard Bailey. Carving is addictive, but that's a good thing. It also is great relaxation and you get to meet the nicest folks.

Enjoy,

Bob

Welcome aboard Nathan, carving is not an addiction, unless you carve more than fifteen hrs. a day, makes me safe cause I only carve about 8 hrs. a day. My wife says it's better than saying,"I'm bored", besides I ain't got time to nag her. You will find an answer to any carving problem or questions on the forum, think about it from all over the world.
