Hi Spanky,
Well Its an old fashioned way of referring to the UK.
In the days when we had stiff upper lips and spoke with posh accents ,drank tea and ate cucumber sandwiches.
If you havent guest Im from England.
Best regards
Fred.

Welcome John,

your pictures anyway, a lot of us carvers make lousy photographers...at least I'm one of them.

Thank you for your interest,I did a reply but I think I may have made a cock up by trying to attach some pictures of my other work.I havent got any pics of my wood spirits yet,I have only done 3 so far as im just learning the techniques of carving ,i only started a couple of weeks ago so dont expect too much .As they say practice makes purfect and im on the first rung of the ladder with a long way to go But it will be much fun.
I will now try to attach some photos of my other work which include Knife making ,Leather work ,Rope work,Whittling whistles and Stick fashioning.

Welcome to the website. I too would be interested in seeing some of your wood spirits, as that is my passion as well. Whenever you get the chance, post some pictures in the gallerie.

Thus far, I've remained rather quiet on this website, but I'm certainly looking forward to seeing your work and hearing from you again.

Hi David, I have posted a picture of my general skills that i mentioned before on the gallery for you.You will see some knives that i made some whistles made from Hazel,a couple of walking sticks with wittled whistles & needle hitching + pineapple knots on the handle grip. There are a few pieces of my leather work & a fire steel set plus a rope mat made from manila rope.As soon as i get a chance i will get some pictures of my wood spirits posted, but dont hold your breath as they are not very good yet .
Regards

Thank you peter, just to keep you & the above wood nibblers up to date ,I finished my first, half decent, wood spirit this evening after 3 previous attempts.I am very pleased with myself and as soon as I can get it photographed I will post it in the gallery for all to laugh at ,well I had to start some where and in any case it should remind all of you who do such beautiful and admired work where you started and how you progressed with perseverance and now give people inspiration & hope like me.
My wife now calls me Chipmunk due to the endless piles of wood chip on the floor around my chair in the kitchen,oh well it could have been worse, thank God for a wonderfully understanding wife. She's Ali by the way.
Anyway must go to bed as its getting late
Regards
