Default New Member Hobbyjack

I have been lurking in the wings for some time just trying to get a feel for the group. I am a retired USAF member and retired Hobby Shop owner . After all those years in the Military and 28 years in the hobby business, I finally decided to get a hobby for myself. Why I dicided to take up wood carving is beyond me. If you tell me to get a 6mm gouge, you may as well tell me to get a forklift. Do yu get my drift? Now for the good part, I have Mint condition, never opened copies of WCI #6, 22, 23, 26, 27, and 40 that I would like to trade for issues #1, 3, 9, 17, 19, 25, 31.

Welcome hobbyjack, well it sounds like you'll fit in here just fine. Any idea what you want to carve after reading and looking at the posts and threads on this site? I'm sure what ever you choose you'll do fine.

Greetings HobbyJack!

Good luck on finding someone to trade with. Unless someone has doubles I doubt that you'll have much success. I've got a couple of those issues that you want but as much as I'd like to help my fellow man I'd sooner cut my arm off than let go of any of my copies. In fact, I'm kicking myself in my @#% for not buying more during the last old issue sale that WCI had back in September!

Thumbs up Re: New Member Hobbyjack

Hello Eddy,
You are the first one to respond to my eMail. I would be willing to give you an exchange copy of your choice just to be able to copy any info from one of those on my want list, and would send you the copy back at my expense. How does that sound to you??

Sorry my friend! No deal! By the time we got through swapping you could in all likelihood with the postage expended buy a back issue at full price from WCI. But I do wish you good luck in your hunt. Why don't you P.M. BobD or Shannon and ask them if WCI is planning another archive issue sale? That's deffinitely the way to go.

Well I had to try....I think I have bought all of the back issues that are available. I did manage to find some back issues in Foley, AL, "George Nelsons shop". He passed away earlier this year and now the shop is closed. Thanks Eddy
