Hey My Name is Greg From Ontario Canada. I wanted a hobby that would be unique. When I was in Venice Italy I thought that Whittling would be neat hobby and has been. This is the first guy i did. took me a couple days. The wood is pine... Not my favourite but what can ya do. DSC03810.JPG
Nice job on your first try Greg. Keep carving away and you will be amazed how much you improve each time. Try to get a hold of some basswood, it works great for beganing carvers. Keep your wits and knives sharp.
Hello, and WELCOME! whittling certainly would be a good choice and it looks like you have a good start. Try some basswood I think you'll enjoy the ease with which it carves. For basswood I like http://www.heineckewood.com/ good prices, fair minded businessmen.
