Post New Member...First Post Introduction
Hi, my name is Vender, I'm retired, been carving relief and walking sticks for a couple of years. I live in NC and have a place in the VA mountains near Roanoke. Have plenty of wood available to choose from. I am now carving a hiking stick from a cedar root with a "wind spirit" face and plan to put an acrylic (clear) knob on top with a penny from my birth year. I've never poured any clear resin and encapsulation. Any tips would be appreciated. Will post picture when completed. Thanks,

Thanks all. I just completed my first Wood Spirit and was pleasantly surprised how it turned out. I plan to put the final coat of finish on my cedar root walking stick tomorrow and hen try the clear acrylic knob on top with two dimes inside. One mercury with my birth year and one new 2011. Will post pictures when finished.
