Hi I am Gary l am a new member i am a wood turner and wish to learn carving to embelish my turning i have never done any carving before so am starting from the begining i hope to learn heaps from this site many thanks Gary

Welcome to the WCI family Gary! Hope that your journey through wood carving is a rewarding one. Wood turning, wood crafting, and wood carving go hand in hand... If you know how to pare with a chisel, run a skew knife on a block of wood being turned, you are not that far behind... Infact, wood turning is essentially wood carving, its just carving in a different form. You really won't find much indifference between the two. Plane carving is taking a square and making it round... There are many wonderful resources here, and people willing to share their ideas or thoughts with you.
