Hello, Everybody! My name is Tom. I'm new to the WCI forum. I was trying to think how long I've been carving but I really don't know, so I think I'll just say more than 10 years. I carve mostly wood spirits, but have recently become interested in relief carving. So, that's why I'm here. Trying to gather some relief carving knowledge. I've read many of the threads and looked through galleries, etc. There are some very wonderful carvers on here and I look forward to getting to know some of you. Have a great day!

Thanks for the welcoming, guys! As for pics, I tried to use one as an identifier, like all of you seem to have, but I guess the system didn't want me to ;-) I guess I lost most of my pictures long ago and at present only have 3. I'll try to figure out how to post them. Again, thanks for the friendly welcome.

Here are a couple. I still can't figure out how to display a profile image though. The system uploaded it, but doesn't display it. Ah well...I'll figure it out eventually. The first image is carved in a partially rotted piece of persimmon. He's just a quick and dirty woodspirit to refresh my carving memory after a 3 year absence from carving. The second, well he was the second one after a 3 year absence. He's carved in apple wood. Still trying to get my carving brain cells to start firing again .
