Welcome Don, try checking out this WCI Carving Club link Wood Carving Illustrated - How To Magazine for Carvers maybe there is a club listed for your area. What do you like to carve or want to learn to carve?
Kathy

Don't know what you're close to but try the following two sources. I'll bet one of them can tell you if there's a club near to where you live--and about shows and suppliers in the state.

Atlanta Woodcarvers Club
Meets second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
W. G. Burnette - Pres.
Mack Love Center
1340 McConnel Drive
Mason Mill Park Dept. of Recreation
Lower Level of Mack Love Center.
Atlanta Woodcarvers Club: Information About Chip, Relief, & In-the-Round Carving & Finishing Techniques

Southeastern Wood Carvers Association Umbrella org. for wood carvers in 9
southeast states. annual show in June
Newsletter and other items to members.

I like relief carving but I have taken a Gary Falin class and a Helen Gibson class. Enjoyed both.

Hello everyone, my name is Tom. I live in Griffin, GA. I have been carving since 1987, and my true love is walking sticks. I am the president of our local club and enjoy that very much. I love carving walking sticks, but being in a club I carve whatever there is to carve at our meetings. We have around 25-30 members but usually around 10 to 12 show up. This site is really great and will tell everyone about it, if they don't already know. I am 60+ years old and I work at Atlanta Air Traffic Control Tower. My other love is SCUBA diving.
