| | Re: New Member Welcome aboard Dee. Some great birds down your way, nice to hear someone enjoys watching them. Harris Hawk is my favorite, they live in your neck of the woods, don't they? Or should I say, desert? Hope we get to see some of your work in the future.

Not sure about the Harris hawk in this area. We live in the corner nest to Louisianiaand we have alot of Pine trees, Oaks & other types of trees. Have seen a the Red-tailed, the Swallow-tailed Kite & one other yet to identify.
We have a lot of water around us and the ducks come through hear but I do not hunt so I have to look up the duck I want to carve. We have a number of goo Bass fishing places that are close by and free to fish in.
I will be posting some photos soon. Please let me knoe what you think.

| | Re: New Member Welcome aboard Dee,great introduction of you by Gene. I am eagearly waiting to see some of your carvings as I to am "wanna be" birds of prey carver and when I'm not carving birds I carve animals mostly predators. Boy now I can plea, bargain and ask some one else for bird carving help. As Gene mentioned there are great carvers on the board.

| | Re: New Member Hello Dee and a hearty welcome. What a great introduction to you by Gene. It makes me appreciate the existing talent here at WCI board and the "new" ones joining everyday. I'm sitting on the edge of my chair waiting for your photos. There's nothing like seeing great carvings to inspire, even if it is through pics.
Thanks.
P.S. I drove through that area one year coming from Louisiana and going to Houston, took the long scenic way. |
