Hello All:

I'm a new carver. I've been lurking on various web sites for a little over a year now. I've purchased some tools and done a few carvings.

I've made a few Christmas ornaments, some Santa heads and sets of Lynn Diel's Flat Plane Nativities for each of my 2 daughters. I carved the Nativity sets while recuperating from surgery the summer before last. I've attached a photo of one set.

I've been having fun loading up with tools and have some Pfeil, Flexcut and Henry Taylor tools and a twenty-odd year old Marples carving set. I like the Pfeil's the best so far.

I'm intrigued by Scandinavian style carving and Celtic art but I plan on tackling all sorts of things my wife wants.

Welcome. Looks like you are off to a good start with your carving. I suggest that you look thru some of the carvers galleries to get some ideas for future projects. When you see an item that is of interest, look at other items from the same carver.

You already do excellent work. The camels are my favorites.
I'll look forward to seeing more.
Welcome.

Welcome aboard Rick bye! Not many members from The Rock, so it is good to have you aboard. Celtic is fun to carve, so many variations. Have fun with us.
