Hi All,

What a great site. I have been carving wood for years, I had an art gallery in Santa Monica, CA. I closed it last year and, moved to Olympia washington to opened a small store featuring hand carved walking sticks and canes. I use all the local woods i could find. The problem is I don't have as much time to go looking for sticks. Im looking for all types of wood straight enough to make walking sticks, and sticks or roots with a natural handles to carve in to canes. Is there any body who could supply me with
blank sticks????

THANKS!!!!!!!

Dirk

Welcome Dirk. There is a thread going on over in General Carving about that subject walking stick blanks.

Might be a good place to get some contacts.

This is a great group of people here. You will enjoy it.

I know there have to be sources because when I went to boy scout camp with my grandson a couple of years ago they were selling walking sticks for $5. The kids were doing all kinds of things to them in there activity groups.
