Take a look through the messages (there is a recent one on why people come to this list) and you will see that we are a friendly and helpful group. Would you mind posting your website? I, along with many others, would like to see some of your work. |

I have never seen a duck hunter chess set in my life and your ideas are wonderful .. ( speaking as a old duck hunter)
It is such a pleasure to see such good craftsmanship ..

| | Re: New Member Welcome, and I really admire your work. The pieces have such unique themes and subjects within them! Love the musical one with the pawns being notes. Very clever. I'm impressed that you've completed so many sets too.
Please post your website so we can admire your work with closer images hopefully.
thanks for showing us these sets

| | Re: New Member Thanks Thor!
I just wrote reply to you when my screen crashed so forgive me if I am repeating myself.
Just visited the 'funky chicken site' Great work....I especially like "Temptations and Vises", the celtic knotwood bench, and the driftwood carving!
I was trying to promote my website when I stumbled across the site here and breathed a sigh of relief once I started looking around...Its so nice to be around people who are into the same kind of thing that I am!...I completely forgot about my 'merchandising', and that is a good feeling. I don't want to be all business-like here...I fell like I'm amongst friends.
I suppose I'll get around to posting my web site someday, for you its Art-CarvedChessSets.com I have dozens and dozens of themed sets, not many of them are listed on the site, a good portion of my stuff has been in Private Commissions, one of MY favorites is in the 'About us' section, Its a pic of me holding chisels looking at the big fish set...check out the "DJ" set in the 'Limited Edition Series' that's where I originally came up with the idea for the musical notes for the pawns which led to the orchestra set...in the DJ set the king is the 'real life' carachature of the DJ who's wife commissioned me for the set...it looks just like him!
Thanks Again Thor! I look forward to talking with you again.
