| | New to list corpsman I recently joined a carving club as I wanted to expand from RC Airplane building from scratch. Many times it is necessary to carve parts for my planes. A friend introduced me to chip carving and that really got me into expanding another hobby. I am interested in Wood Spirits carving and caricatures. Right now I am chip carving to get more techniques down. I am adding carving tools to my collection that I already have. I am also into scroll sawing and these hobbies keep me busy in the cold Wisconsin winters. I keep looking for plans on line for carving. I have access to enough basswood from a neighbor so I consider myself lucky that way. Corpsman Up! |

| | Re: New to list corpsman Welcome Corpsman from a Yooper, a wee bit north of you. Somewhere down the line maybe I can pick your brain on gas powered models. A good friend of mine died unexpectedly last year and I sort of inherited an unfinished Decathalon 40, engine and RC unit, servos, the works, but really don't know how to proceed getting this airborn. I havent even built a model since I was a kid. The wing, fuselage w/tailfeathers, and engine are all complete except for control surfaces, servo installation, fabric and landing gear.
Got some carving to do before Christmas but I'd like to get this started after the first of the year.
