Default New Guy here and I have a question.

Hey guys I am not a wood worker but I have an interesting wood carving,

It is about 3 feet high is is a wood carving of a pile of books about 3-4 thick with the biggest at the bottom and the books are staggers and look like they were lain haphazardly but it is all carved out of wood weights about 25-30 pounds and is pained different colors for each book.

I do not know the type of wood, nor the age I live in an extremely dry desert and so it has some signs of cracking due to age but I keep it out of the sun and hopefully it wont get any more cracked...

First thing what can I do to keep this wood from cracking?
BTW I live in Las Vegas and most homes don't have wood as the dry air just dries it out so fast.

Also where could I find something like this again to purchase I love the look of it just wondering thanks alot I do not have pictures now but Imagine some large dictionary types books made out of wood piled about 3 feet high and thats what it is thanks alot!

Hello, Dave is right without seeing an image of your carving it would be just guessing on how to reply to your query. So here is a link to 'How to upload images to this site' Posting Photos Someone/s sure might have the answers for you.

New member's posts are not always shown when they have links.....This is to reduce the number of spam posts that we get (used to get).

I approved a couple of them. You should be 'good to go' after about 5 posts.
