I went on line and found a list of Woodworking/Woodcarving Guilds and Clubs which are in that area of west central Florida. I'm not sure this is going to help you much but it might give you a start. You could always contact these folks, if they're still in existance, and ask about woodcarvers in your area.

I do know that we have a Tampa carver in our Pinellas County club who comes over the bridge for every meeting because there's nothing on his side of the bay. I nothing else you're always welcome to stop by and see us every now and again.
