Hi all I've never tried carving before, I've been a scroller for 18 years, I make intarsia, puzzles and fret work and looking to try something new. I don't own any knives I do have a Foredom I use a little, mostly sander's, bandsaw and scrollsaw. I need to find a local club in my area to learn some or a class. I live in So. Ca. Scrollsaw, we have members in our carving club who do some scrollsaw work. Got a chance to give one a test drive what a hoot, I really enjoyed creating a small piece. Kind of like a puzzle an arrow, Indian and buffalo...pieces all fit together, now I have to figure out how to paint it.
I'm thinking about getting serious about buying a scroll saw. The one I used was by DeWalt floor model. Nice machine.
What type of scroll saw do you have?

Hi Kathy, Thanks for the help. A DeWalt is a very good saw to use, I had Delta two speed till it wore me out I broke a lot of blade's with it. I shopped the wood shows when they came to town and bought a Hegner it runs so smooth and quite. Mike
