Default New Guy

Hello my name is Bryon. I recently moved to Salt Lake City from Montana. I love to carve and ski. I don't belong to any local carving clubs. I have a carving mentor named Al Beavis who lives in Montana. He is the greatest. He taught me to bark carve. I paid for a lesson in fish carving when I moved here and like that. Looking forward to checking out this site to help with my carving.

Greg,

I checked out your bears. They're awesome. My carving mentor promises to teach me some chainsaw carving when I can get back to Montana.

Be careful, it is addictive..... I do 3-5 carvings a week now and my other carvings suffer. The chainsaw carvings sell really well so that is what I am doing right now.

Give it a whirl, you will love it.

Oh, almost forgot, thank you for the kind words about my bears

Greg

Greg,

It takes me more than a week to finish one fish working a lot of hours. If you check out www.wilsoncarvings.com you can see some of my stuff. I bought a chainsaw and played with it on my own and I'll wait until I can work with Al before I try much with it again. It's hard.

Holy fish Your carvings are absolutely spectacular. I am humbled.... And you are an expert skier as well, way to go!

When I was 19 I tried to move to Colorado to try my hand as an instructor and hopefully progress in skiing but that was the year there was no snow! Ended up going back to college and becoming and engineer.

Now.... 28 years later I work for a major retailer and carve all I can. I have not skied in about 8 years.

Your carvings are amazing. I have always wanted to learn to carve like that! I have a couple of pcs of drift wood that I am wanting to do a styalized walleye in but am afraid to try!

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to your advice!

Greg
