Welcome CarveRog!
Glad to have another chipper on board.
Cross is beautiful!

Woodcarver 55555,
Try to get Wayne Bartons tape. It is the next best thing to sitting with a carver and you can realize the technique alot faster than from a book.

Welcome Carver Rog. I love that cross! I have never tried chip carving but hope to someday after I master carving in the round.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the cross. Dabble is how I got started. I am now dabbling with relief and chip together.

Hello Dave, as you can see by my pictures I am mostly a chip carver but have dabbled in relief. Most types of carving can get expensived but chip carving is just about as cheap as you can get. All you need to get started is a knife, rule, pencil, eraser, and bow compass. If you ever need any help with chip carving just give me a shout.
