Default New to carving and the group

Hi all,

I have always wanted to try my hand at wood carving and last September I finally ordered a beginner set of tools and picked up some basswood and began to make a lot of wood chips and sawdust. I have been reading a lot of articles in magazines and have picked up a few books on the subject. I have only done 3 carvings so far, one of a Santa ornament, a Pete LeClair bust pattern and attached is my attempt at a golfer from the book "Carving Golfers" by Bill Howrilla published by Fox Chapel.

I am looking forward to getting to know fellow carvers via this forum, you can never have too many friends......
