Default new to carving

Hello everyone i am new to the forum and to carving i only carved a few things so far i am going to try wood sprits in walking stix.

I guess I'm just in time. Took a photo of my first carving, happened to be a wood spirit. I'll post it in a few minutes.

Welcome,
You'll find that you can post questions here and get lots of different but good answers. There's quite a few publications on how to carve wood spirits and walking sticks if you're looking at buying something that you have use over and over to help you improve your carving skills. Just click on the link to New Carving books on the right side of this screen to check out some of them.

be forewarned !! if you ask 10 carvers a question-- you will likely get 12-15 different answers. meaning that each of us uses several different methods to accomplish our goals.

HELLO, I'm Bill W. I just registered and am glad I found this resource. Mike Bloomquist suggested I sign up. I just completed a weekend seminar with him in Old Forge in the Adirondaks upstate NY. I look fprward to doing Santas with him in an Oct. 18-19 session in the same place- the Old Forge Arts Center. Beatuiful in the Fall. Just wanted to get in the system Bill W
