Default Re: New Carver in Tennessee

Hello All,
Thanks for the warm welcome last week. I have been spending a lot of time browsing this message board and have found a lot of valuable information and tips. I have also been doing a lot of practice carving over the past week and have been having a ball. I think I am addicted.
I wanted to share some pictures of the carvings that I have completed since I signed up so I have included a link to my photo album at Picture Trail. The Gnomes (inspired by Jan Oegema's article) and the ornaments(taken from Rick in Seattle's website) were all carved from scrap 2x4s ripped down to 2x2s and 1x1s. I have since received my order of Basswood so the next generation of carvings should be better. I feel that I have learned a lot but my weak points are still eyes and noses.
I have my photos on PictureTrail.com
Check out my photo album called: "Wood Carvings"

Sign my guest book or feel free to leave me some photo comments!
Thanks again
