Petal - May I suggest that "right now" you start writing a list of questions to ask Wood 'n Feathers ? Then you'll have everything all organized and ready to go. Otherwise you'll be excited and get home to realize you didn't ask or see half of the things you wanted to. It's just like a grocery list.
There will be SO many new things, things you haven't even dreamed of and it will be very easy - and expensive - to get off track. So much stuff - so little time. After all these years, it happens to me every time I go to a show.

Welcome Petal,
There are a lot of great women carvers--many who frequent this board. Other than hand/arm strength, there's very little that the guys can carve that us "girls" can't. You're lucky. When I started carving about 15 years ago, there were very few women around here that carved. Now there's lots...some really good instructors, too.

ANyway, welcome to our board. Good luck with the carving shop visit. Let us know how you're doing. Ask any question you can think of about carving. Someone here will have an answer.

Hi Petal, Welcome! It's a pleasure to have you with us! You sound just as excited as I was when I started carving...and I'm still feeling that way four years later!

This site is terrific, it has been my one and only carving class, I have learned so much here! Everyone is VERY friendly and more than willing to help. Be sure to ask us anything, someone here will either have the answer or find it for you! Again, Welcome! Callynne

Hi Petal

Just a quick note to say "Hi" to a fellow newbie. I just started getting into carving--carving letters in pine, like is done in sign carving. I too have a lot of ideas spinning in my head, and I have to keep writing them down in a notebook. Otherwise, I'll forget half of them. Hope you'll enjoy carving as much as I do.

Bob
