am i the only new carver that looks at the work in the magazines and is just floored by how good they are next to my hackings

naw!!! man i do that every time a new one comes out!!!lol and hey i've been carving 3 or 4 years now i guess . if it's any consolation i do now on occasion
look and go you know mine might be as good if not better than a similar piece i see in there,and buy no means am i bragging,far from that!!! but as you get better you'll see improvements in your own carvings, as hard as it is i still because of where some of them are still have to see some of my 1st carvings and man...uuuggghhhh... i hate to see them but by the same token i look and go you know i have come a long way since then. keep the faith and keep making them chips same will happen to you.

Show us some of your "hackings". We're all hackers at some point but your correct - there are some nice carvings in the magazine.
