Default New from Canada

Hi all retired recently and said I would start carving when I had more time and loved the cottonwood houses I saw at woodcarver club show so hooked on doing.Did little relief carving but love the cottonwood idea as very unique so came here to learn new things from you wise woodcarvers.

Also anyone can suggest a how to book on the cottonwood bark carving not just something with pictures of completed works would appreciate your assistance.

rookie = welcome. This is the place for news of more kinds of carving than I ever knew existed (you wanna do a softball?)
Where are you?
The CB people come in several flavors = knife work and power carvers, some add pyro and paint (or all of the above). They all seem to have a pretty wild time and the diversity of the work is amazing.
I just bash away at local western red cedar.
PS: congrats on your retirement. Learn to be a little selfish with your time.
