| | New to the board LOL! After I wrote the subject line I had to laugh - new to the 'board'! Been working with boards for some time now but I'm AM new to this message board, at least in the posting sense. I joined a few months ago (been lurking for a year or so before that) and figured it was time to make my first post.
I've been woodworking for years, building everything from furniture to birdhouses (as well as firewood and toothpicks) but in the past couple of years have been getting more and more into carving, or at least getting into the idea of carving.
I have finished a few pieces; woodspirits, shelf elves, etc., though I am hoping to get more involved in ALL types of carving... starting right now! (There I said it, I'm out of the closet, there's no turning back... (Clive, are you listening? I'm committed! ))
I have a great mentor locally (Clive) that is helping me a lot! With his help, and this board, I am hoping that 2007 will be the Year of the Carve!
btw - I am from Dartmouth, NS, Canada so if anyone else is near here let me know and we can get together for the 3C's - coffee, carve and chat. |
