Lovely box with a wonderful finish. The box seems to have a special purpose. IS there something in that negative space at the top? Curious minds want to know. Also, what kind of wood is it?
I'm going to visit your web site now.

| | Re: New bloke from Blue Mountains, Australia That looks like a platypus in the open area in the top? Beautiful job on the box. Now that I have looked at your site, I see it is a platypus, good wook! That wood is beautiful!

| | Re: New bloke from Blue Mountains, Australia Hi
Thank you for the kind and warm welcome. This box is carved from one block of Red Cedar, and has four drawers.
There are carvings on each side of the box,
the predators of the Platypus and the Platypus in it's den, below ground level, feeding the Pup.
The cove at the top has a Platypus looking out from it's earthern den, like the Paltypus in real life a little hard to photograph but looks great!
Dimensions are Length - 21cm; Depth - 16cm; Height - 38cm.
