| | new from the Big Ski Country Good afternoon, I live in Billings, Montana, and I have been carving for several years and have had taken classes in bird and decoy carving, Santa's, and Caricatures. I do not have to time to devote to carving like I would like due to working in Alaska. I enjoy many styles and types of carving and that limits the progress in anyone by trying to find what I like best.
Presently have one question and it is What is Swiss Sand Paper and is there any comparable US made sanding papers. |

Here's the difference from my prespective. Swiss sandpaper is cloth backed regular sandpaper is of course paper backed. I use the swiss paper for my little drum sander it wraps around the tool and lasts longer and holds up better. I'm sure there are other uses, but that's what i use it for. I hope thar answers your questions.
And welcome aboard

| | Re: new from the Big Ski Country Gergi summed up my total knowledge on the subject. I do know that Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers has a good selection of the Swiss sandpaper for sale.
