Welcome skoty, sorry I can't help you with your project, but surely there will be someone here who can. Kathy

can you post a photo of diagram showing how you want it to look? Are you just using the tips or do you want the whole antler? Personally I would use some type of bolt. If you drill into the antler and set a quater inch diameter bolt into the hole with epoxy it should hold. You could then use some type of decorative nut on the other side of the center pole. You could also try setting bolts into the diamond willow. This is a pretty soft wood however and I'm not sure how it would hold. Coat racks take a bit of abuse. Dan |

If you take the "button" part of the antler, trace around it where you want to attatch it to the pole and flatten that part of the pole to meet the base of the antler you can attach the antler to the pole by following Dan's advice. Except instead of a bolt, I'd use either a cut off lag screw epoxied into the antler or one of those double ended hanger screws. Then drill a pilot into the pole, epoxy the base of the antler AND the screw end, then screw it onto the pole. That should give you a solid bond with both the screw and the antler epoxied into and onto the pole. As an alternative, go ahead with the flattening of the pole where the antler base will meet it, drill a larger hole to accomodate one of those threaded inserts made for whatever size bolt you decide to use. I think I'd drill a hole into the antler and tap that hole to accomodate a bolt. Epoxy that end into the antler. When thoroughly set up, you can hand tighten that antler into the threaded insert. A drop of that "thread set" compound (any brand will do) should secure the bolt and still allow it to be backed out if you want for shipping, or whatever. Al |

A 7ft tall coat rack and only 3 inches at the base doesn't seem big enough to me? I would use a stick that was 5 or 6 inches at the base and taper up from there? just my opinion.
