Default Need held with ID

Someone gave this to my Dad 15 or so years ago. He has since passed so it has been with me through a few moves ever since. My mom always hated it lol.. So, I have tried to do some research on it, but never had any luck. I was hoping someone could shed some light by providing any info at all. Hopefully someone can identify. Thanks in advance..

Oh, and this site is great. I am an artist as well as a great wood worker but never tried carving. I have been looking around here and there is some very interesting stuff!

No offense, but I have to agree with your Mom. The carving seems to be fairly well done but it is uuuuuuugggggggllllllyyyyy. Looks like someones bad dream from the South Seas somewhere.

Haha.. None taken. It's a great conversation starter as everyone always has an opinion on it.. With everyone that has seen it, half of them think its ugly or say its bad luck! I actually really like it..
