Default my first carving

this is my first attempt with no insructon and using and electric chainsaw so i am open to comments ,but keepin mind my very first LoL

hi styer, welcome to wci :-) wow this is a mighty good carving, you really should be proud of it. i like in particular the sideview, nice stylised eagle (if that is wrong, it is because i am no bird person, your carving is terrific !) ... thanks for sharing :-)

well ty very much for your nice comments, i used a spruce log that o got at a friends place from some previous logging that went on there is still about 10 logs leftthat i can get,also he has a pine log about 3 feet in dia and 12 feet long , is this wood decent for carving!
and again ty for the comments as i was unsure about my first

Nothing wrong with that carving...and if its your first, I expect we will see great things from you in the future. The style almost has a folk art look to it, and I mean that as a complement. Well done.

Styer,

That is very nice work for a first carving. If you were going for realism the legs are a bit thick and the body is too short. Studying a lot of pics at google images can help you with proportions. If you were going for a stylized carving you did great.
