Forgive me for my rudeness. Here I am reading your introduction and I ended up addressing Pepper's issue instead of welcoming you. It's always nice when a new carver decides to do sticks, since that is my focus too. I'm sure you will enjoy it and even if you choose to "branch" out, your stick carving will serve you well.

I would love to see some of your work so please post photos. Us stickmakers love to see sticks. Also, WCI just opened a "Sticks and canes" forum so be sure to post any stick stuff there.

I carved a nice stick but no one can tell me what kind of wood it is. I took the bark off put it in my closit for a few weeks and it carved nice. I live in NYS can anyone recomend what sticks to carve.
