Default michiganders here?

Any michiganders here in the Lansing/Eaton Rapids area? I'm very new to power carving, or any carving for that matter. Just curious if there was anyone around the area for when I get myself in a pickle like I did the other day trying to carve a womans nose! I just popped over, been hiding on the other side of the board.

no doubt, nobody has any money up here, but we do have lots of fallen branches from a long winter.

I don't know about the Lansing/Eaton Rapids area but I agree with TomH. A lot of our club carvers have headed in the direction of Michigan for the summer. There sure must be a lot of them up there now!

Born and raised in Michigan, the Flint area until I took the plane ride to Marine boot camp in SanDiego. I have not been back for about twenty years, live in California now.

There's a couple of us YOOPERS around, but that's not much to help your search for carvers around you. Actually, we're closer to 5 (Thats FIVE ) other state's capitols, than to Lansing. Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Illinois, and Iowa! Bessemer's a LOOOOOONG way from just about everywhere. In fact if I was going to go anywhere, I wouldn't weant to start from here!

Seriously, Jeff, check the WCI list of carving clubs for Michigan....there are several right in your area and I'm sure there are some folks there more than willing to help you out with carving related problems.

you may not be close to the capital of your own state, but don't worry, we'll still figure out a way to get your tax money down here. I might have heard the governor thinking about taxing wood shavings to help balance the budget.
