Default Just wanted to say hi
I have been viewing this message board for a few weeks and wanted to say hi. I am fairly new to carving. I started last January and have focused on in the round caricatures. I am hoping to expand to other styles soon. I can see that this is a great site with excellent information. Seems like a friendly group as well. I have been real impressed with the work I have seen and I look forward to seeing more in the future.

Welcome Griffin. I find the people here to be knowledgable and very willing to help out less experienced carvers. I know I appreciate all their advice.

Thanks for the welcome. Joy, I am from Dayton, Ohio. I got interested in carving after going to the Artistry In Wood show last November. I picked up a knife, v-tool and an easy snowman rough out. After that I took a beginners class and got hooked. My only complaint is work keeps getting in the way.

Welcome Mike,
If you like caricature carving you landed in the right spot..... There are some fantastic caricature carvers on this site and as you have probably already noticed, a whole section devoted to just that type of carving.
