Hi Everyone,

Just starting out carving, and have taken my first steps.

Haven't had time to develop my technique yet, but I am working on it, and hope to improve with patience and practise.

Woul;d welocme any advise or comments regarding the photo's I have posted, or just some insights into the do's and dont's that I should watch out for.

Hope to start posting regularly.

Rgds,
Kenny

Hi Kenny,
Welcome to the fourm. Your seats looked pretty good to me. There are a lot of ways to carve and a lot of different ways to start.
What are you interesed in doing ? in the round , low relief, high relief, chip , power , portrat?

You might want to check out the links here and the artisan ones. Then we can get a better idea of what you like to do .

Hi Ash,

Thanks for the reply!

I am afraid that I am as green as they come, and Low relief, high relief etc etc dont really have much meaning to me just now.

I will however read up on the terminology so I am better placed to communicate on the subject.

Thanks, and Best Regards,
kenny.

Welcome, i am also new and not sure how to see your pics, the one thing i always try to remember is.........NEVER TAKE CARVING SERIOUS, HAVE FUN WITH IT.......and when it gets agravating put in down for a bit but be sure to come back to it, lots of avenues out there to explore, carving can be used to create or duplicate or replicate anything already on our planet especially what God gave us to enjoy, have fun and hope to see you on here lots....fishcarver.......www.fishcarver.com
