| | just saying hello Well I guess its time to say hello. I just joined the other day. I have been carving for a while but just found this site a few days ago. Lots of great pictures and info. Hope Ill be talking with some of you soon.

Irishman, I am into carving a snowman scene right now for my wife for Christmas.I am mainly carving small now, I did carve what I call big [1 foot or so] but as I do all my carving manually it got too much on back and shoulders sitting in my chair working.I cant get myself to sit at a bench. I guess I would say I am a folk carver , I dont go for the realism just the cute or fun factor. About a year after I started carving I saw a Ron Ransom book and was glad to see some people still carved like that. Gonna post some pics soon.
