| | | John Hatton "10" yrs old A new member message from Coffeeman,
I would like to introduce my young neighbor, John who started carving with me Dec. 2003 and has completed several projects.
At age 10, he is very good and will in no time have a nice collection of completed carvings.
Last march, he entered his sail boat in the youth categaory and took 4th out of about 30 entries. This year, he has two more pieces going in the Xmas ornament and a woodspirit, maybe three if he gets the turtle done.
On my picture trail site you can see his carvings in album #10 & #11.
Any encouragement you can give him will be appreciated, he is not aware of this posting, but I will share it with him during this weekends carving session.
I'm looking forward to many many carving sessions together as we both learn together and especially interested in watching his development.
What sparked this tonight, was he just called me and asked if he could "borrow" another piece of cottonwood bark, it made me laugh so I thought I share with you a future carver in training.

| | Re: John Hatton "10" yrs old Hi John -- Congratulations on your success at the carving show, but most of all congratulations on finding such a wonderfu, exciting, rewarding hobby as woodcarving at your age. I didn't find woodcarving until I was 44 years old. Just think what you'll be able to carve and what you will have learned when you're 44!!
Your work looks grand -- keep it up. |
