Default Joe the New Guy Here

Ok I'm not Joe I'm Wayne the new guy. I took an intrest in carving watching a carver in Branson years ago. The wife and I travel in our RV thru out the winter (Texas this year). The wife has decided that I need a hobby so I watched some carvers in an RV park in Indinana this year. So here I am looking to get some knowledge. I bought a couple books for beginners.
I was figuring that in a couple months I will be real good (JOKE) I know the first thing I need is a Pile of Band Aids !! I do have have some Kevar gloves from work and figure they are worth their weight in gold. Well any suggestions ??

Hi 'Wayne the new guy'!!! Welcome to the WCI Forum! It appears that you've already got a couple of important things to start carving... your humor, band aids and the kevlar carving glove. Pretty darn good start to help you enjoy your new hobby... As you may have noticed, there's alot of wonderful friendly and very talented carvers here on the forum to help us 'newbies' out when we're in trouble. So avail yourself to all the forum has to offer, enjoy your new hobby and safe carving to you!

Wayne,

Hello and welcome. Good to have you with us. Where abouts in Indiana were you watching these carvers, you could have been in my neck of the woods. What type of carving are you setting out to do?

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Mark

Hey there Wayne. There are many types of cavers here (pros, beginners and everyrthing in between). Usually I don't listen to my wife but in your case I think she was right. Just keep chippin' away.
