| | Ian Norbury Hey everyone,
On behalf of Ian Norbury, here is his introduction: I am Ian Norbury. I have been carving for about 25 years, first in antique restoration and then in figure carving. I have written 9 books and taught hundreds of carvers in various countries around the world. My teaching methods are rather scientific for some people's taste but they do produce results. My two new books' Carving Classic Female Faces' and 'Carving Classic Female Figures' are aimed at established carvers who have not ventured into the figure carving side, but would like to. It is not easy because we all know what a figure should look like so it is easy to see when it is wrong. However, I, like many other artists find it the most inspiring and satisfying subject. If you have any questions about the books or any other aspect of carving that you think I can help with - just ask. So it is the great Ian Norbury! By the way, Ian is very willing to answer questions, but has asked that we start a specific thread that he can subscribe to for questions specifically to him. I've started one on the general carving section, so please post any and all questions for Mr. Norbury there!!!! Thanks! Bob |

| | Re: Ian Norbury I've been an admirer of Ian Norbury's work ever since I started. His book on carving female faces interest me as I am still challenged with getting feminine features the way I want. My goal is to move into full torsos some day so I hope we have you with us for a while Ian Norbury.
