Default Howdy Y'all

Just wanted to say hello. I just started carving (with the exception of a Canada goose I did in 8th grade). I'm carving a little Northern Parula. I'm just about done with the carving part. Now comes the hard part...the painting. No small task for a color blind guy, but we'll see how it goes. I do have one question that I'm sure has been asked thousands of times - how should I seal my bird? I've read some use spray lacquer, some will brush on something??? I don't want to lose any detail in the feathers but I want to make sure it lasts. I'm planning on painting with gouache. Thanks and I'll post a pic one of these days

Stephen from Ramsey MN

Welcome to the forum. I like to seal with Deft spray lacquer but it is getting hard to find around here.
