| | Howdy from San Antonio, TX Not sure if I am considered a power carver or woodcarver. I mostly carve realistic birds and use both methods on all of my work. Just finished the Eagle Carving stick from the article in the last issue of Woodcarving Illustrated. Check my stuff out on my web site. www.geocities.com/texastileart@sbcglobal.net. I'm new to this message board and frankly have just restarted my carving back up, just kind of lost the time. I am sure I will have a million questions. |

| | Re: Howdy from San Antonio, TX Welcome aboard! Bird carvers seem to always do accurate, clean, and beautifully finished carvings. Yours are too. Looking forward to seeing more and learning a thing or two. Tom H |

| | Re: Howdy from San Antonio, TX Thanks for the welcoming notes. Right now I have a couple of things I am working on. One is a hummingbird that if half carved. The other is a Cardinal that is ready for paint. After these I want to start a White Wing Dove. One problem though...I need to find some documentation on painting. I need specifics cause I am color blind. It's a real nightmare when it comes to painting a bird. If I don't have a book that tells me what colors to mix I get into real trouble. I sometimes have to ask my wife if something is green or brown. She just laughs. |
