Hey WUZFUZ, to begin with, yer a little young for this wood carvin stuff, (check my profile) any way, Gene Messer (the master) has a step by step of how to carve a little hound dog on Utube (if you can get it) check under the Tutorials heading on the forum here and it will take you to it. Unfoortunately I can't get it on the phone line. Hope this helps ya out and welcome to the forum from Canada

i have 6 of tom wolfs books and find his teaching tough to stay with,
hes definitely short on patterns if you compare his books to pete leclairs or enlow books
tom wolf has a nice pattern in the book, country carving isbn:0-88740-105-8 > $15.95 schiffer books the hound dog has 2 heads in the pattern one baying the other tracking, (use the one needed -choice) but his patterns are only side view,

i would love to be able to share but its copyrighted material,

maybe check your local library..
or do a Google on red bone hounds and find a side view of a hound, resize it and use it for a pattern

Wuzfuz,
If you will send me a PM with your snail mail address, I'll send you 3-4 hound dog patterns that I've had in my pattern stash for years. I don't believe any are copyrighted and I'd be glad to share.

Wuzfuz ...pm is private message...if you click on a persons name a list comes up and one of the items is "send a private email". We haven't had much in problems here for a long time, but have had spammers etc in the past and not wise to put ones personal info on the air.......wuzfuz?? you an ex-cop with the rest of us? Dave
