Default Hi from Oregon

I've been carving for about 15 years and mostly carve santas and caricatures.
In the last Woodcarving Illustrated they had a santa by Shawn Cipa. It said there would be a video of the finished project in motion on the website. Can anyone tell me how to see it????? Just love the project. Also wondering if there is a place to buy the wood for the project. Would appreciate any help.

Welcome to the forum!

You could try Rockler or Woodcraft. Both have a store in Portland, and Woodcraft also has one in Eugene. They might have basswood in the right size and also might have the plywood. A good mail order source for basswood is Heinecke Wood Products I buy all my basswood from them. Top quality wood and fast service.

You could also try local DIY stores such as Home Depot or Lowes for the plywood. If you have a cabinet shops nearby (places that make kitchen cabinets), you could check them to see if they have any scraps of that type plywood.

Don't know anything about the video - perhaps not up yet...

Claude
