hey Crappiekat, I'm just rediscovering carving from my younger days as well. I'm located in the champaign/urbana area in IL. I've found that Bloomington has a large carving community and a dedicated store in Springfield. Fur and Feathers Home Page there is also a carving club located in one of our local community buildings. I know those are pretty far from where you are at, but it could be an excuse for a road trip! Do you have a local woodshop? Like Woodcraft or similar? My local store has given me a lot of information and information on the local carving club. Good luck! |
